Six years later, I was ready to go home. I was a single mom and the only thing I knew about my son's dad was his name-Luca. I didn't need to know anything else. The universe had other ideas because on our second day back home, the man came crashing back into my life. But walking in and seeing my hookup from a cruise six years ago knocks me on my ass. It was a weekend of fun and now I'm seeing a pair of eyes, identical to mine, staring right at me.
I put a significant amount of weight on my initial communications with people once I joined each site. For example, if I started to receive a significant amount of messages from users without even having my profile completed, this counted heavily against the website. I know that many sites use bots and other fakes users by sending messages to new members as if they are real people.
If I received a significant number of messages on day one with no real profile then the site was considered to be a scam right away. I paid close attention to the profiles of the members close to me. I made a point to check to see if I had seen the profiles on other dating sites that had previously been flagged as scams. No dating site has only hot girls. I made it a point to immediately flag a site as a scam alert if the profile photos looked fake or too cookie-cutter like.
I investigated the companies behind the dating sites themselves. I did this in order to determine whether or not they were previously involved in some sort of scam.
I took user reviews from other websites into consideration. There are plenty of online reviews of dating sites and I did my due diligence on each one of the sites. In the event that I came across a site that had a ton of negative reviews then I immediately flagged the site as a scam. These are just a few pieces of criteria that I had used to determine whether or not a site was legit or a scam.
Be sure to read my reviews in full before making any buying decisions. So many people submit dating sites for me to review. Most of the time they submit them out of curiosity. They want to better identify whether or not a website is legit or a scam. Keep reading for answers to a few questions below that many people ask in regards to scam sites and getting screwed by dating companies pun intended.
Check them out and feel free to contact me if you have any other questions! Be on the lookout for strange or cookie-cutter messaging.
You also want to pay close attention to dating company terms and conditions. The boy standing next to her is my son. Now we're living next door to each other and attempting to co-parent something that would be easy to do if the pull that brought us together Read online.
Oh, and he's my best friend. Zach pushes me away the moment sparks fly, and sparks have been flying since the day we met. Either I have a serious case of body odor I'm not aware of, or he's intentionally keeping me at a distance.
The way I see it, I have two options. I can leave town and make a fresh start, or I can show Zach how right we are for each other. Only one of those options has the potential to ruin the best friendship I've ever had.
But I'm considering risking it all for love. A RITA-nominated, sexy, friends-to-lovers romance that will pull your emotional heartstrings. Grab it now! But Johnny makes it clear he wants more and Izzy already knows she wants as much of hot-in-bed, sweet-out-of-it Johnny Gamble.
Floating on air thinking this is going somewhere, Izzy quickly learns why Johnny holds distant. Someone who left him and did it leaving him broken. Whoever was up next would be runner up, second best. Until out of nowhere, his lost love comes back to town.
And Izzy knew the stakes, so she makes it easy and slips through his fingers. That and the fact Eliza Forrester makes breakfast with a canary singing on her shoulder and fills out tight dresses in a way Johnny Gamble cannot get out of his head.
I really liked both characters and enjoyed the chemistry between them. This book mixes two of my favorite romance type books, a fake relationship and a brother's best friend storyline.
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more by this author. May 18, Fizza rated it it was amazing. An old tale with a new spin, it is light and entertaining read.
The Hookup Hoax
I must read for romance lovers and those who like stories about fake-turned-real relationships. I enjoyed reading this light hearted romance. Sawyer is owner of a successful business but having difficulty keeping his company at the top.
And now he learned that his grandparents plan to leave their cabin to a family member who will pass it on to next generations.
He knows that it can't be him since he has never had a real relationship An old tale with a new spin, it is light and entertaining read. He knows that it can't be him since he has never had a real relationship and never plans to marry. Now that must change or he will lose the cabin, which he has always wanted.
Olivia is his best friend's sister. She is back in USA and who can be better than her to play his fake-girlfriend. But things doesn't go the way two of them planned. They fell for each other. Will they be able to overcome their fears and give each other a chance? I received a complimentary copy of this book, for which I'd like to thank the publisher. Aug 21, Renee rated it it was amazing.
The set-up for this hoax in the Hoax series is cute and endearing. Sawyer Sterling really wants his family's cabin. The reason I fell for Sawyer was mostly his sentimental need for his family's cabin. I loved how he wanted this on the inside and outside he was cool about it. So showing up with his best friends sister as his girl was adorable for me. Olivia is introduced and has spent so much times just going with the flow. She has traveled all over the world and now sort of wants to settle down The set-up for this hoax in the Hoax series is cute and endearing.
She has traveled all over the world and now sort of wants to settle down and be normal. Her character was needy in a very special way. She doesn't appear or act like a whiny girl I was surprised at how fast I fell into a groove with this couple. I loved this sweet, fluffy and romantic book.
I am such a fan of this author and I read everything she writes. May 13, Bette Hansen rated it it was amazing. Completely entertaining read! This is, as the title suggests, a pretend relationship story. While the premise is nothing new, the writing and characters make this feel fresh and fun. Sawyer and Olivia are fun strong characters and I definitely felt their connection. I really enjoyed this one and think you will too.
I highly recommend it. May 26, Devika rated it liked it. Jan 01, ReadingInThe6ix rated it liked it. Jun 08, Lee rated it really liked it Shelves: arcnetgalley-edelweissreviewe entangle mayreleasenew-to-me-author.
These are the things that attracted me to this book. The Hookup Hoax was an easy to read book, not meaning it had no substance, but rather that I found it easy to put myself in the story, see what the characters were seeing, feel what they were feeling and believe the connection that they had. Sawyer 3. Sawyer was a confirmed bachelor, never seeing himself married, let alone in a relationship that lasted past the one night stand.
His reluctance to form a close connection outside the bedroom initially painted him as a superficial playboy, but it wasn't long before I saw beneath the front that he showed to the outside world. His loyalty to his friends and family, the significance in his life of his grandparents, the way he treasured the memories of his parents and their legacy. Even though the scam that Sawyer concocted made you question the morality of the deception, I understood why he acted so desperately.
His heart was in the right place, however misguided his actions were. Underneath it all Sawyer had a conscience, he just needed the right woman to let go of the fear of falling in love, let go of the need to prove himself, and concentrate on what matters most. Olivia was Sawyers best friend Aiden's sister. Having just returned from wandering the world, getting over a painful breakup years ago, she is now ready to settle down and start a family.
When Sawyer proposes his scheme to work for him while pretending to be a fake girlfriend for a few months, she takes it on the proviso that they keep the relationship purely platonic. She knows what a player Sawyer is and doesn't want to become another in his long unending list of conquests, but it is an opportunity to work and ease back in to city life.
I liked Olivia and found myself wanting the best for her, not wanting her to be hurt by this arrangement. I loved the relationship she had with her brother, both having lived through the painful breakup of their parents marriage. She was loyal and caring, and I felt for her desire to have a close family like the one that Sawyer has with his grandparents. What Olivia and Sawyer don't count on is the attraction they feel for each other.
The sparks fly and they find it harder and harder to not give in to their desires.
I've come across the most incideous of scams related to the so called "Dating ID" and/or "Hookup ID Card" phenomenon. It goes something like this: aYour contact by screaming hot girl who says all the right things, gets you hooked on her breast, box and her charm only to discovery you have to register at a cite of her choosing to prove your age, that your not in the sexual preditor. I felt the chemistry between Olivia and Sawyer, their conversation was snarky yet comfortable, flirty and fun, and they just felt good together. I really liked how they didn't just fall into bed together the first chance they got. They really got to know each other first and how they tried to fight their growing attraction to each other was entertaining. I also enjoyed seeing how the bigger story developed, Sawyer's dawning realisation of what was really important, putting things in perspective, and how he went about rectifying his mistakes.
He showed his vulnerability while manning up and taking the consequences.
Sawyer's grandparents added so much to this story and I loved them, their no nonsense attitude, their sense of fun and adventure, the way they instilled family values in Sawyer.
They were an adorable couple. Overall, The Hookup Hoax entertained me from page one till the end. The characters and storyline grabbed my attention and it had enough little twists to make it on its own. I like the authors writing style and will definitely be looking at other books penned by her.

First reviewed at Keeper Bookshelf Sawyer needs to show his grandparents that he should be the one that they give their cabin to in order to see their home continue on with the next generation of love and family living there. It is totally beside the point that Sawyer never, ever intends to marry or have kids.
No, not happening. He is not about to build a family and then see it all disappear like it did for him when his parents died. No, far better to remain single and not take that risk. There First reviewed at Keeper Bookshelf Sawyer needs to show his grandparents that he should be the one that they give their cabin to in order to see their home continue on with the next generation of love and family living there.
There is no way he will see his home, his refuge be given to his stuffy cousin Tyler. So what if Tyler is married and about to be a father. Who knew she would grow up to be so beautiful and sexy? She has been traveling around the world these last five years, after a breaking up with the man she thought she would marry and live the rest of her days at his side. Olivia is tired of the nomadic lifestyle and has come back to New York City to set down roots again.
When at a lunch with her brother and Sawyer it is jokingly tossed on the table that Sawyer would her hire for two different jobs - it got her attention.
What could possibly go wrong? Oh, I had so much fun reading The Hookup Hoax. Sawyer and Olivia were perfectly hot, awkward, flirty, embarrassed, sexy and loving with each other throughout their story. Even harder to convince everyone they come in contact with that their feelings for each other are real or pretend or maybe truly real after all. Both Sawyer and Olivia have issues and baggage to deal with.
If this were a true pretend relationship then none of that would matter. They have to decide if taking a risk on each other is the more important thing happening in their lives.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews I have mixed feelings about The Hookup Hoax by Heather Thurmeier; it wasn't a bad story but it has been done before many times and thusly it wasn't new or fresh.
The "relationship of convenience" and "best friend's little sister" set-up has been well used, however the characters were likeable and their chemistry was off the charts making is somewhat enjoyable.

The company his grandfather founded Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews I have mixed feelings about The Hookup Hoax by Heather Thurmeier; it wasn't a bad story but it has been done before many times and thusly it wasn't new or fresh.
The company his grandfather founded and his father ran until his death and the one he took over after college is on the brink of collapse and he has one big account that can save it all. To top it off his grandparents are planning on deeding their home to either him or his cousin, the home he feels closest to his parents and with his cousin married and with a baby on the way he feels he has an edge so asking his best friend's younger sister who just returned from 5 years backpacking across the world to be his fake girlfriend and move in with him seems like a great idea.
Too bad he finds himself attracted to her from the start and even the threat of bodily harm from his best friend can't seem to shake everything she makes him feel.
At a crossroads in her life and living on her brother's couch, Olivia Morgan is quick to agree to Sawyer's plan and his temporary job offer at his company. She absolutely refuses to believe what she feels around him is anything but excitement for the opportunities he's giving her but somehow she knows it's more than that but having been hurt by a player before she has no plans to let herself fall for this confirmed bachelor.
I liked both Sawyer and Olivia and watching them try to fight off the attraction between them was entertaining. I like that it forced them to really get to know one another and appreciate each on a non sexual level.

Sawyer was fascinated with the life that Olivia has led and all of her experiences and quickly sees her as an asset to helping him win the global account he is working on. Olivia admires Sawyer's dedication to his business but is concerned about his health and well being because he pushes himself so hard. It was easy to see the chemistry between them but it was even easier to see that even early on they were developing feelings that go way beyond physical.
I absolutely loved the time they spent at the cabin with Sawyer's Gram and Gramps who were feisty and fun and a whole lot smarter than any of the younger generation gave them credit for. Having Sawyer share his love of the cabin with Olivia and even some good memories of the place with her was a nice touch and added some much needed sentiment to this story.
A whole lot flirty and a wee bit sexy made this a fun story despite the four overused romance troupes that made up its plot. Review copy provided for an honest review.

SO Sawyer has to decide how to do these things to save him the headache and hassle. She finally agrees and there are sparks between the two. I really do like Sawyer and Olivia together. She challenges him and makes him see things differently and he sees people as people, not objects.
Do they end up together? Well, I do not want to spoil the ending. I will say, I loved the writing -though at times the story was a bit slow and there needed to be a little more passion between the characters at certain points but overall, this was a good story.
I really liked the MC and I hope to see more from this author in follow-up stories for the supporting characters found in this story. My rating: 4. May 12, Laura Roberts rated it really liked it. A lovely story to read!

Olivia Morgan has just returned to the US after being abroad for five years. She's crashing on her older brother, Aiden's, couch for the time being. She didn't realize how difficult it would be to find a job after her five-year backpacking trip, straight out of college.
She ran halfway across the globe to heal her heartbreak. Therefore, she established a rule for herself: no boyfriends until she has a job and is settled, which could take a while, and even then, she wants someone who can give her forever.
So when Sawyer, Aiden's best friend, says he'll give her a temporary job and her own room in his apartment, if she will be his fake girlfriend for three months, she agrees. There shouldn't be any repercussions to being a fake girlfriend to someone who doesn't want to commit, right? But, as they soon find out, there is an attraction between them that will not be denied. As boundaries are crossed, Olivia and Sawyer have a hard time discerning what's real, and what's part of the hoax.
